Thomas Petazzoni 3e03873ff1 package/dovecot: document why the ignore CVE entry is not stale
The new pkg-stats feature of stale ignore CVE entry detection reports
CVE-2022-30550 as stale, but it's not correct: the NVD database is
incorrect, and this has been reported in
https://lore.kernel.org/buildroot/20250517181815.02ce0393@windsurf/.

Let's annotate this information in dovecot.mk so that we don't wonder
why it's reported stale.

Bernd Kuhls cbd22bacff package/dovecot: add optional dependency to libxcrypt
When glibc was bumped to version 2.39 in commit
b5680f53d6 it removed the deprecated
libcrypt support.

As glibc's libcrypt was providing dovecot's libcrypt dependency this
broke the dovecot build using glibc version 2.39.

To fix this select the libxcrypt dependency to dovecot when using a
glibc toolchain and add the dependency if selected.

Peter Korsgaard 43899226b2 package/dovecot: add upstream security fix for CVE-2022-30550
An issue was discovered in the auth component in Dovecot 2.2 and 2.3 before
2.3.20. When two passdb configuration entries exist with the same driver
and args settings, incorrect username_filter and mechanism settings can be
applied to passdb definitions. These incorrectly applied settings can lead
to an unintended security configuration and can permit privilege escalation
in certain configurations. The documentation does not advise against the
use of passdb definitions that have the same driver and args settings. One
such configuration would be where an administrator wishes to use the same
PAM configuration or passwd file for both normal and master users but use
the username_filter setting to restrict which of the users is able to be a
master user.

- Fix CVE-2020-10958: In Dovecot before 2.3.10.1, a crafted SMTP/LMTP
message triggers an unauthenticated use-after-free bug in
submission-login, submission, or lmtp, and can lead to a crash under
circumstances involving many newlines after a command.
- Fix CVE-2020-10967: In Dovecot before 2.3.10.1, remote
unauthenticated attackers can crash the lmtp or submission process by

Peter Korsgaard 250535975d package/dovecot: security bump to version 2.3.9.3
Fixes the following security issues:

- CVE-2020-7046: Truncated UTF-8 can be used to DoS submission-login and
  lmtp processes
lib-smtp doesn't handle truncated command parameters properly, resulting
in infinite loop taking 100% CPU for the process. This happens for LMTP
(where it doesn't matter so much) and also for submission-login where
  unauthenticated users can trigger it.

- CVE-2020-7957: Specially crafted mail can crash snippet generation
  Snippet generation crashes if:
  - message is large enough that message-parser returns multiple body
    blocks
  - The first block(s) don't contain the full snippet (e.g. full of
    whitespace)
  - input ends with '>'

Bernd Kuhls 5c47cabd17 package/{dovecot, dovecot-pigeonhole}: bump version to 2.3.4, 0.5.4
We need to bump both packages in one commit:

https://dovecot.org/pipermail/dovecot-news/2018-November/000392.html

Adjustments to several changes in Dovecot v2.3.4 make this Pigeonhole
release dependent on that Dovecot release; it will not compile against
older Dovecot versions. And, conversely, you need to upgrade
Pigeonhole when upgrading Dovecot to v2.3.4.

Peter Korsgaard 28adb37be4 dovecot: add upstream security fix for CVE-2017-15132
A flaw was found in dovecot 2.0 up to 2.2.33 and 2.3.0. An abort of SASL
authentication results in a memory leak in dovecot's auth client used by
login processes. The leak has impact in high performance configuration
where same login processes are reused and can cause the process to crash due
to memory exhaustion.

Thomas Petazzoni 1c8dda3e43 Merge branch 'next'
This merges the next branch accumulated during the 2017.11 release
cycle back into the master branch.

A few conflicts had to be resolved:

 - In the DEVELOPERS file, because Fabrice Fontaine was added as a
developer for libupnp in master, and for libupnp18 in
next. Resolution is simple: add him for both.

 - linux/Config.in, because we updated the 4.13.x release used by
default in master, while we moved to 4.14 in next. Resolution: use
   4.14.

 - package/libupnp/libupnp.hash: a hash for the license file was added
in master, while the package was bumped into next. Resolution: keep
the hash for the license file, and keep the hash for the newest
   version of libupnp.

 - package/linux-headers/Config.in.host: default version of the kernel
headers for 4.13 was bumped to the latest 4.13.x in master, but was
changed to 4.14 in next. Resolution: use 4.14.

 - package/samba4/: samba was bumped to 4.6.11 in master for security
reasons, but was bumped to 4.7.3 in next. Resolution: keep 4.7.3.
