<p><span>After months of architecture, coding and test we have released version 2.1.1 of the Intel® Clear Containers offering.  This is a major release with some features we believe anyone wishing to use containers will be excited about!</span></p>
<p><span>We have added support for commonly used container infrastructure and orchestration stacks like Docker* swarm and Kubernetes*. These enhancements were achieved through re-architecture of Intel® Clear Containers internals, enabling us to bring these capabilities:</span></p>
<ul><li>
<p><span>Complex Networking support enhanced, adding support for more complex configurations via multiple interfaces within the workload and passing full configuration information (IPs, routes, hostnames etc.) through to the guest.</span></p>
</li>
<li>
<p><span>Extra isolation added between the workload and the optimised guest OS by wrapping the container workload inside namespaces to add an extra layer of isolation and security.</span></p>
</li>
<li>
<p><span>Better monitoring of the workload has been added.  A good example of how this can be used is to allow for host-side monitoring of the workload exit codes.</span></p>
</li>
<li>
<p><span>Full tty (stdin/stdout) handling, including screen resizes and ‘kill’ (signalling) support, added through implementation of significant architectural changes.</span></p>
</li>
<li>
<p><span>‘exec’ support has been added to allow workloads to be added to the container .  This was done in order that Clear Containers support POD container use-cases.</span></p>
</li>
