As announced on December 5, 2017, The Intel Clear Containers project has joined the Kata Containers project, under open governance at the OpenStack* Foundation.

The Clear Containers team has been working on the next generation of Clear Containers and today that work culminates in the release of Clear Containers 3.0!

When learning computer programming languages, the first example tutorial given is usually ‘hello world’. Similarly, to learn about machine learning, the first example is often image recognition of handwritten numbers based on the MNIST dataset.

GCC 7* was released last May 2nd and the Clear Linux* Project already uses it as the default C compiler.

In the past five weeks, we have released three point-releases of Intel® Clear Containers. The most recent, v2.1.4, released this week.

This year at DockerCon 17, we will demonstrate how Intel® Clear Containers continue to deliver all the agility and benefits of traditional containers with the security associated with VMs.
